The Venue!

When you think of a rooftop wedding, you picture sunshine, sweeping views, and maybe a light breeze—the perfect backdrop for love. That’s exactly what Chad and Andreana had in mind for their big day at Penthouse 650 in Springfield, Massachusetts. But as any New Englander knows, the weather has a mind of its own. Let me tell you how their wedding day unfolded, complete with unexpected twists and a whole lot of fun.

The Morning

The morning started with Andreana getting ready in a little backroom at Penthouse 650. To be honest, the "bridal suite" was more of a makeshift event room than the glamorous spaces you see on Pinterest. But hey, it did the job! Meanwhile, Chad had a room across the street at the Sheraton. Word of advice for anyone using this venue—the hotel isn’t far, but it’s a bit of a maze to figure out the first time. Once you get your bearings, it’s smooth sailing.

The ceremony

After capturing Chad’s groom shots (looking sharp, by the way), it was time for the ceremony. Originally planned for the grassy rooftop—one of Penthouse 650’s standout features—the couple decided to move things indoors due to some very uncooperative weather. Though it didn’t rain, the wind was not messing around. Picture florals flying off into the distance—not exactly the vibe anyone wants during their vows! But the indoor ceremony turned out to be cozy and heartfelt, with a family pastor officiating. He had everyone laughing and tearing up in equal measure—a perfect balance of humor and love.

Portraits

Once the "I dos" were said and sealed, the wind decided to calm down just enough for us to sneak outside for portraits. Yes, it was chilly for a September wedding, but the grassy rooftop made for such a stunning backdrop, we all powered through. Andreana’s veil danced in the breeze, and the light was just soft enough to create some magical moments. Family portraits, couple portraits—we got it all done with smiles and maybe a few shivers.

Reception

As the sun dipped lower, the party moved inside for the reception. And let me tell you, this was a dancing crowd. Even though Chad isn’t a big dancer, he hit the floor and had a blast. His guests—well, they didn’t leave the dance floor all night! It was one of those receptions where you couldn’t help but feel the joy radiating off everyone. And let’s not forget the food and drinks—delicious, as always, and perfect fuel for a night of celebrating.

After The Wedding

Oh, and the fun didn’t stop there! Not long after, I got to join them for their reveal party. Watching them relive their wedding day with friends and family while flipping through their photos was the cherry on top of an already amazing experience.

To Chad and Andreana: thank you for letting me be part of your incredible day. Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, and maybe a few more breezy adventures!
